Minutes of the Last Meeting

The minutes of the meeting held on 7th September  2010 were discussed and approved as an accurate account of the meeting, and signed by the Chairman.

















Matters Arising

Highways Department

·         Potholes

  • The pothole on the corner of Manor Road and Bicester Road has still not been repaired
  • The trench dug across the Worminghall Road outside number 45 is already breaking up and potholes appearing.

Other items to note (not highways)

  • Bucks County Council are trying to encourage parish councils to purchase salt bins for winter maintenance.  To be discussed at the next meeting








Protection of Common Land

Lay-bys on the Thame Road

·          It had been noted that large lorries are using the lay-bys as a stop over or waiting for businesses to open.  This is not considered a problem but will be monitored by the parish council.







Street Lights

·          No faults reported this month.












Play Area/Playing Field

·         Parish Council are to purchase 2 new signs for No Dogs to be fixed on the gates of the childrens play area.

·         Councillor David Cherry is seeking funding for the new playground project.  This is an ongoing project.

·         The proposal for the drainage of the football field from TGMS has been received and is on circulation for discussion at the next meeting.










Anti Social Behaviour

·          One incident concerning youths in the village hall car park has been reported.

·          Cars are still blocking the footpaths.  These are reported to CPSO.

·          The bus shelter will be repainted and new timetables posted on the wall.




Bucks Recycling

·          A letter has been sent to BCC, Tim Fowler, requesting that the original boundaries be reinstated before the new tenant arrives.  It has been suggested that bollards will be sited on the grass verges to stop further damage by vehicles.  Councillor David Cherry continues to pursue this matter.  County Councillor Michael Edmunds has asked that he be copied in on the correspondence.





Parking in College Crescent

·          Mr Roland Fagun of Vale of Aylesbury Housing Trust visited College Crescent to assess the parking problems presented.  Several suggestions were put forward including turning the grass area into parking spaces.  Further discussion to take place at the next meeting when the matter of ownership has been clarified.








Jericho Farm

·          Nothing further to report this month.











SID/Traffic Calming Measures

·          The costings for the new design for the pedestrian crossing on the Bicester Road have still not yet been received from BCC.  County Councillor Michael Edmunds requested a copy of the correspondence concerning this matter.

Any Other Business

Local Area Forum

·          The Chairman attended the last Local Area Forum held at Cuddington and reported that most of the discussion was concerned with saving electricity and purchase of waste bins.






Signs around the village

·          This continues to be a problem and it will be added to the Agenda for the next meeting.






Pre School Car Washing Day

·          It was noted that Pre School are using the village hall car park for the fundraising car washing day on 17th October.  The parish council have no objection but requests that the car park be cleared of all mud and debris at the end of the day.





High Sheriff of Buckingham visit

·          The High Sheriff of Buckinghamshire is to visit the affordable housing  in November 2010 accompanied by Jean Fox of AVDC.  Date to be confirmed.





Tree Planting

·          The village christmas tree has been planted and a photo will be published  in the Informer.  Thanks go to Mike and Sandra Edmundson for this generous donation to the village.




Bushes at Village Hall Entrance

·          The entrance around the gates of the Village Hall needs attention.  This matter will be raised for discussion at the next meeting.




Date of Next Meeting

The next meeting of the Parish Council is scheduled to take place on Tuesday,

2nd November 2010 at 7.30pm in the Village Hall.


The meeting closed at 8.30 pm
