ANNUAL PARISH MEETING

 

 

MINUTES of the ANNUAL PARISH MEETING

held on

Tuesday 7th  May 2013

 

Present:   John Mole (Chairman), David Cherry (Vice Chairman),

                Andrew Finn, Paul Kilpin, Derek Pearce, Ken Brown, Rob Craddock

                Plus:  4 Parishioners

Matters Arising

There were no matters arising from the previous meeting.

 

4.

Chairman’s Report

Mr Mole thanked all present for their continued hard work for the Parish Council over the last year.

Special thanks went to Mr Andrew Finn with regards to all his hard work enabling the Parish Council to install a new Children’s Play Area next to the Village Hall.

Mr Mole also thanked Mr Michael Rand for his hard work and help he has given to Oakley Parish Council in the last year.

The unaudited accounts for 2012/2013 were circulated for general discussion at the meeting.

Police Report:

Sue Jones

Sue Jones thanked all for the support given from Oakley Village to the local police and informed all that Car crime had slowed down in the area although Brill were still suffering somewhat.

There has been know reported anti social behaviour in Oakley this year and she was pleased to announce that Oakley is a safe, nice place to live.

 

 

 

 

Friends of Oakley School

Oakley Football Clubs

Mr Andrew Durndell

Oakley Football Club has had a good year.  Oakley first team made it through to 3 finals but lost 2 and won 1.

 

 

Oakley Social Centre

Good year, bookings up, and making enough for day to day running cots.  Larger issues needed money raised from events.

 

 

Oakley Events Committee

The events committee is the fundraising arm of the village hall committee.  Unfortunately the Village Day Event was somewhat smaller this year due to the awful weather.

 

 

Oakley Short Mat Bowls Club

Another successful year with increased numbers attending.  The club hope to this coming year make progress with regards to a outside Bowling Green at the Village Playing Field.

Oakley Parochial Church Council

Chair:  Mr David Cherry

This year, the church has continued to be an important part of life in Oakley and  provides a  regular Sunday programme of worship for our congregation.

 

 

Oakley Pre-School

Oakley Garden Club

It has been a very successful year for Gardening Club with funds growing steadily due to the plant sales.  Membership is now at 54 and a regular attendance at meetings of 35.  There is to be a plant sale this coming Sunday.

 

 

Oakley Allotment Society

Oakley Allotment Society is doing well with the 26½ plots, some success and failures have been achieved over the last year.

Oakley Traffic Action Group

Oakley Traffic Action Group are delighted that the MVAS machine will soon come into fruition and look forward to when it is up and running.

The Chairman informed all that the plaque in memory of Roy Fennell will be displayed at lunch time on 12th May 2013
